He left school at the age of 16 and was offered an apprenticeship at the traditional Savile Row tailors Anderson and Shephard and then at neighbouring Gieves and Hawkes, both masters in the technical construction of clothing. From there he moved to the theatrical costumiers Angels and Bermans where he mastered 6 methods of pattern cutting from the melodramatic 16th Century to the razor sharp tailoring which has become a McQueen signature. Aged 20 he was employed by the designer Koji Tatsuno, who also had his roots in British tailoring. A year later McQueen travelled to Milan where he was employed as Romeo Gigli's design assistant. This is a close family group of 4 white does & 1 brown fawn from this past summer, that travels through our area. One of the does is going into her 3rd year and had a brown fawn last summer. The 2 older does are sisters from the same mother and are 5 & 6 years old. They had albino fawns last summer but they were lost to either bears, wolves or coyotes. It may be because the white fawns are not easily hidden & we had especially high numbers of predators in the area this year. Now the white deer seem to have a little advantage over the predators with their "snow" camouflage. To be continued....
